A Loving Family for Every Child

In Lesotho, many children grow up without stable parental care due to long-term economic pressure, the impact of HIV/AIDS, and family breakdown.

One Day is an Irish charity that provides loving, safe, family-style homes where vulnerable children in Lesotho can grow up in stability and dignity.

Our long-term commitment reaches beyond residential care, working toward reconciliation, healthy transition, and the strengthening of families and communities so that one day every child in Lesotho can grow up in a secure and loving home.

The One Day Family is the community of monthly supporters who make loving, safe family homes possible. We are raising children for the long term, providing daily care, education, house parents, and stability that lasts.

Your €30 per month, just €1 per day, helps sustain these homes and allows us to plan responsibly and grow without compromising care.

If you would like to stand behind this work in a steady and practical way, we would love you to join the One Day Family.

One Day at a Time

Our story had unfolded One Day at a time. We’ve tried to capture that story as it has unfolded.

Through the blog, we share what is happening in the homes, in the community, and behind the scenes of leadership and development. You’ll find updates, lessons learned, building progress, team journeys, and reflections from those serving on the ground.

Take your time, explore the different areas of the work, and follow the journey as it continues to unfold.

Get Involved and Make a Difference

Over the years, one of the greatest strengths of One Day has been the way ordinary people step forward and use what they already have to make a real difference. Teachers, builders, students, parents, business owners, church members. People bring their skills, time, and willingness, and together meaningful work gets done.

The stories you’ll find here show groups of ordinary people doing work that matters, building, serving, listening, and learning. The invitation is simple. If you have something to offer, there is space for you to use it. You can be part of work that is significant, practical, and lasting.
